Summertime in Crested Butte

I have returned to Colorado to guide for Crested Butte Mountain Guides for the next several months. I will be instructing rock climbing courses as well as offering guided climbing at our local crag, Taylor Canyon, and the world famous Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
Colorado offers a lifetime of excitement for the alpine climber. Crested Butte lies at the end of the road and is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Let an experienced guide toss you a rope to safely get to you the top of our area classics. I will also be guiding technical 14es in the Elks and the Sangres.

There is still snow out in the beautiful Elk Mountains and snow climbers and ambitious ski mountaineers can find couloirs and lingering snowfields to climb up and even ski down. I guided a ski descent of Purple Peak last July 15 (A CBMG record) but I believe we can beat that this year!

Crested Butte is the birthplace of mountain biking and offers miles of singletrack riding for all abilities. Mountain biking in Crested Butte is unlike biking anywhere else in the country. It's smooth, fast, scenic and has the best flowers in the state. CBMG offers single or multi day mountain bike adventures.

There's a ton of fun to be had right here in the Gunnison Valley. You can book your next trip by emailing me at jwmackinnon@gmail.com or by calling the CBMG office at 970 349 5430. Feel free to visit us on the web at www.crestedbutteguides.com for more ideas and outdoor opportunities.
