Summertime in the Butte

I spend my summers and winters in Crested Butte, Colorado. Crested Butte is a small mountain town located in the heart of the Elk Mountains. I am lucky to live in such a spectacular place but even luckier that I get to go out and play on the mountains, rocks and trails for my job.

Crested Butte is home to some of Colorado's best single track mountain biking. Beautiful scenery and the best wildflowers in the state make every ride memorable. This is a photo of Jenny Abraham descending the 403 trail down to Gothic Rd.

Last winter left over 450 inches of snow in the mountains around town. That made for some epic winter skiing, but it also set us up for great spring and summer ski-mountaineering. Here is a shot of me skiing the S-Couloir on Purple Peak in mid July.
